J Reynolds & Co., Inc. was recently awarded the roofing contract for Premier Place and the connecting building of Life Time Athletic in Dallas, Texas. The property is managed by CBRE Dallas. The building owner and consultant chose to upgrade the buildings energy code by installing a 72mm G410 Sika Sarnafil membrane. This past April, J Reynolds began working on the project to remove the existing ballast roofing system from the 22 story tower and the athletic center. The ballast from the tower was bagged by hand and taken down in the service elevator. The ballast from the athletic building was dry vacuumed using Sunbelt Vacuum services (see video). April rains and high winds have created a few challenges, but nothing J Reynolds hasn’t overcome in the past.
“Working above a 22-story glass building & high-end health club in bustling Dallas, comes with challenges” said Matt Skipper, CEO of J Reynolds & Co., Inc. “We had a lot to consider in the placement of heavy machinery & waste containers, permits for street closures, removal of tons of material from an active high-rise building…all in the crazy winds and rain that DFW has experienced this season.”
